New Delhi’s Baha’i Chapel (often called the Lotus Temple because of its unique shape) is one of the most iconic structures we have built. This temple is a Baha’i house of worship and has his 27 freestanding petals covered in marble. He is arranged in groups of three to form nine faces. He has nine doors opening into a central hall with a roof height of just over 40 meters and a capacity of 2,500 people.
East of Nehru Square, the temple is shaped like a lotus flower and is the last of the seven major Baha’i temples he built around the world. Completed in 1986, it is surrounded by lush landscaped gardens. The structure is made of pure white marble. Architect Fribulz Sabha chose the lotus as a common symbol of Hinduism, Buddhism, Bai temples, Jains and Islam. Followers of all religions can visit the temple to pray and meditate.

It has also been recognized by several publications around the world, including Encyclopedia Britannia and Guinness World Records.
